The Glossy GHD's

GHD Black gloss IV styler *

Hey dolls,
I have used GHD's for years now, I started off with some dodgy straighteners at first when I was quite young and straight hair was all the rage. I don't use them as often and as harshly as I used to but once a discovered GHD's I have never looked back! GHD's are much more advanced than your standard straighteners, they have ceramic heater technology and I have always felt that they damage my hair (breakage) alot less than other types of straighteners. I use them on my natural hair which is very very curly and they work in a second. I believe its because of how smooth they are and the heat they reach so quickly, it tames my hair so well!
I've also used Cloud 9 straighteners, I had the larger plate ones but to be honest I don't think they did as good a job at keeping my hair tamed, straight and free from frizz, something these defiantly do.

Anything bad about them?

I honestly cant think of any major bad points, perhaps the price as they cost £99 which is pricey! But honestly, the GHD's I had before these ones (which do still work although I have to tie hairbands around them so they turn on) have lasted me at least 5 years! They last forever and are SO reliable, also handy because they work abroad with different voltages etc so if you travel theres no problem there. Im not sure if that was a proper bad point but I honestly cant think of anything really bad, I swear by GHD's!

So this one is the limited edition Black gloss IV styler, there is also one in red. I love it, its that little bit more sassy and sleek looking.
They feel lovely to work with and its cool to get something that little bit different, they would make an amazing present! I thought that as I opened them because the box and packaging is so luxurious.

I hope I didn't miss anything and I hope this has been of interest incase you are looking for straighteners at the moment!

How do you get on with GHD's? What is your favourite heat styler?

Sammi x

I'd kill for a pair of GHD'S at the moment i'm heat free and my hair is so kinky and curly that it'd probably revert within the hour!

I had a pair of GHD's for about 5/6 years before i bought a new pair, and swear by them also. Really good quality and if used with the correct heat protectant, hardly damage your hair at all! They are a good product and would rather spend the extra money knowing they are going to last and not ruin my hair! great post Sammi! xoxo

I see them in Sephora all the time and I've always wanted to try but they're kinda pricey. I use a CHI mini.

I have a limited edition beach ghd, and I love it! I used to have a mark hill straightener, which compaired to the ghd, was iffy. My ghd's are 2 years ols and still going strong! Defo worth the price! xx

I've always been a GHD fan, and always had one, except for last year when mine gave up on me :(

I had heard loads about the 'Genie' hair straightner, so I got one for Christmas last year and I swear by it! I don't think I would shell out for another GHD again after discovering the Genie :)

to be quite honest I dont like or recommend ghd's as they dont have a heat setting they are over 280 degrees and that on any hair type is very very damaging after months of use "/ be careful using them! xo

I've had my GHD hair straightener since 2008 and it's still going strong! I absolutely love it and wouldn't use any other hair straightening tool. I really want to get the GHD blow dryer, it looks great!

I have the wide plated standard GHDs and I love them... I couldn't find them the other day so I just grabbed the straighteners that I used to use before I got them and the difference is remarkable! With GHDs my hair is perfectly straight with just one or two goes over. Fantastic item!

It's so silly because I have a ghd straightener but I never use it. I'm just so scared of damaging my hair so I save it for very special occasions. Maybe I'll go and buy a good heat protectant and try to use it more because it gives a lovely result on my naturally wavy hair.

My wife loves GHDs!! I bought her some of the red glossy ones after I read this post (thanks for this by the way). She's smitten with them. The prices seemed to vary a lot online, though I found a decent price comparison site at Cheap GHD Straighteners, maybe that will help someone else out.
